Why couples should meditate with their partner.

  • Regulate Stress

    Research has shown that amongst partners’, cortisol levels spike during conflict. This hormone is a sign of high stress. But those with greater measured mindfulness recovered more rapidly. Their cortisol levels were quicker to return to normal after the conflict ended.

  • Changes How You Think

    Mindfulness practices have been shown to increase grey matter in key areas of the brain, such as the Anterior Cingulate Cortex and the Prefrontal Cortex. These areas of the brain are associated with self regulatory processes, problem solving, and emotion regulation.

  • Generate Kindness

    A type of meditation called loving-kindness, which is incorporated throughout this guided meditation series, has been scientifically demonstrated to increase peoples' compassion towards themselves as well as others. Over 22 studies have demonstrated this!

As a clinical psychologist with more than 50 publications, he has devoted over 20 years of his life to researching relationships and the early years of marriage. One of his most notable achievements was his development of his PAIR program, which has received national press coverage.

  • How will the recipient receive this gift?

    Sending this meditation program to another couple is easy! In the "Send Gift" section you will have to answer three questions. Who is this program for, what email address or phone number would you like us to send it to, and when would you like us to send it? That's it! We will send them their login info either same day or at a later date you specify.

  • How long does this program take each day?

    This 7 day program works best when couples dedicate roughly 20 mindful minutes with their partner. This gives each couple plenty of time for the meditation and discussion topics.

  • This couple may have never meditated before, is this program for them?

    Yes! This program requires absolutely NO experience with meditation or mindfulness. But experienced meditators will find tons of value as well!

  • What are the guided meditations like?

    This series incorporates meditation, mindfulness, and guided relaxation techniques. Each meditation shares a visualization, along with breathing techniques. Please check out the free sample in our "Preview This Series" section to better understand what the program will be like.

  • What is a wellness check?

    A wellness check is a brief questionnaire that each couple completes before and after this series, that will give them a sense of how their relationship is doing. Completing both wellness checks will help couples to see how the meditations have helped their relationship. It will also help us make this program better, so that couples can see an even greater impact to their relationship.
